Overall, I am pleased with my two final looks,
one editorial, and one catwalk. If I were to shoot these looks again I would
make the colour on the face more intense. For example on the editorial shoot, I
would contour the face more, in particular the eyes to make them stand out and
appear more alluring. Similarly with the catwalk look, I would make the white eyeliner
thicker. I also wish I had been brave enough to brush a thick band of red over
the eyes or forehead. I could have done this after the shots I’d taken, leaving
me with a choice of what worked best rather than wondering. Maybe for the
future I also need to work on having different model positions and poses,
bringing other limbs into the frame, rather than a reliable head and shoulders.
However, I feel I carried out all the new makeup and hair skills to a high,
professional standard. In particular I have jumped up a level with my hair
skills, spending equal time on hair and makeup and I feel I was adventurous
with the hair, making it very sculptural. I really enjoyed this aspect of the
project, along with the craft element, which can be seen in my hand made
styling for both shoots. I’m proud I persevered with the styling, rather than
buying and arranging bought items as I feel this makes my shoot more
individual. Taken as a whole I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this unit and think I’ve
got some great pictures.
