Adding some interest with WIGS!

Here, I have experimented with wigs, learning how to prep the hair, put on a cap, keeping the hair as flat as possible by either pin curling the whole head or if the models hair is too long, french plaiting the front of the head. I found this exercise really enlightening to see how hair, its colour, length, shape, texture, can change the appearance of the face, and so a person. The red brought out colour in the skin, the dark hair brought out facial features like brows and eyes, the blonde really exagerated the facial shape and washed out the skin, the blue was obviously very bright and attention grabbing, yet the skin looked really clear against this wig. This made me think about how a person brands themselves. Also, more so for this project, these wigs opened up my eyes to the possibility of a wig, maybe a nice dreadlock style, or something really sculptural that may be too time consuming to prepare using the models hair on shoot. This could also give me experience with different hair textures, for example, afro hair.
