Skin Texture Experiments

Here I used facemasks to experiment with skin texture. This particular mask was apricot, it smelt lovely and had a great gritty texture to work with. I applied the mask thin in some areas and thicker in others, I tried layering the mask and carving into it. Thinner areas of the mask cracked and thicker areas obviously took longer to dry but this was worth it as the mask did hold its shape well. I could also try doing this with Fullers Earth as I've recently purchased a massive industrial sized tub!! T o colour the face mask I used Aquacolour, I applied this thickly as if I had added too much water the consistency of the mask may also have changed, potentially rubbing bits of the face mask away. Also it wasn't intentional I actually really liked the cracked effect this face mask gave, subtle yet effective.
