I included this amazingwork by makeup artist Ayami Nishimura as proof you could stick quite big objects to the face and body as long as you have the patience and determination!
Also, with 'what is alluring?' in mind, I'm really attracted to how the jewels climb up the neck and how the whole face is covered, yet the lips are left pink and dewy. This is exaggerated by the pose of the model and how her mouth is open for this shot.
The gaze of this model is great too, the eyes stand out but you have to search for them more than the mouth, as they are sized the same as many of the jewels and the brown eye colour blends well with the pink, purple and orange jewels, already on the face.
However, I believe Ayami Nishimura wanted us to see the eyes as the model looks straight at us as a viewer and the brows, which because of the angle lead us down the face, are covered with blue gems. The blue contrasts well with the brown eyes and therefore we are drawn to them.
To conclude this image has great mystery and allure as well as resemblence to scarification, texture, great model, great skin and the wow factor.
