Women's Wild Tribal Clothing!

Wearing Dolce and Gabbana with Prada and looking amazing - so much inspiration to be taken away from this shoot I don't know where to begin. I find some pictures more relevent to my tribal task than others. Tons of accessories to get swept away by. Dark, gothic, skull yet catlike eye, very clean, pale, flawless skin and bleached eyebrows. Again what can be taken away, in this case, the eyebrows. Enjoying the incorporation of fur and pompoms! Great how the big hair gives the impression of a headdress even if there isn't a headdress present.

"Cyber Tribe"

Very fond of this editorial shoot! Great mix of print and colour but also for the tribal use of accessorising and styling! Also a lot to learn from the models pose - the way they stand, what their faces do....

Makeup Designs inspired by the Yine tribe

1
My favourite designs here are 3, 5 and 12. I think 3 will be very interesting on the face, I like how fine the line is so I hope I can achieve this when using freehand on the face, I think this look could change the visible form of the face, the lines are exagerating the cheekbones and mouth/chin area. Design 5 would just look amazing in colour and I like how I've almost painted on accessories e.g. a small cape over the shoulders or an arm band. I like design 12 for similiar reasons, I adore the geometric feel and really like the idea of painting on a headband.

Peru Textiles

I wanted to look at textiles from Peru, given that the Yine tribe are based in Peru and I believed they would draw inspiration from similar places, also these textiles are very rich in patterns that could be translated to the face or body using aqua colour or pencils. I could change the colours and scale of the patterns to suit different areas of my model. I feel I could use the idea of hats and maybe customise a hat into a mix of tribal. Could be interesting/striking.

Colour! - What colours go with what?, what colours contrast each eachother?, what colours will jump out on the skin or against the skin?, which will compliment the skin? Why??

I find these textiles from Peru amazing! I could really draw inspiration from these. The above textile reminds me most of the Yine tribe, but below there are more fabulous patterns, lines and markings I could learn from or adapt.

The reminder that these textiles are handmade! Sewing - Craftsmanship! How great is this!

Layering colour - scratching into colour to expose a layer underneath - mixing colours.

The Yine Tribe

I am so drawn to the Yine Tribe, their markings on the bottom third of the face remind me of the patterns created by islamic tiles. I find the choice to use blue ink intriguing and I think they look amazing against the black hair/eyes. Incredible bead work attached round the neck, large enough to cover the chest. The use of bells. Imagining the sound of the tribe as they walk, run, move.

The Yine Tribal markings continue down and over the body to the arms and hands! The painted fingers and half of the hand, are the palms painted??

Beautiful beaded bracelets.

How the markings on the face drop down under the eyes, a very considered design. What is alluring? maybe the Yine tribe find the eyes alluring. I do not necessarily have to have cover what is alluring. What is alluring i.e. the eyes, could be left clear to stand out even more on their own away from pattern or markings.

Note the bleading of the ink/paint on the arm and hand - softens the look of the colour and line. Also, the line across the face goes up over the nose yet from the front the line is straight. Just a note to myself that whatever I design for the face may look different from different angles and that this could really change an image, good or bad.

Similar to the Shuar tribe the Yine tribe wear headdresses. The Yine tribe wear more of a band across the head - taking something natural (a plant/bark/dried leaves/nuts/acorns/conkers/ANYTHING) and customising these objects to create something wonderful.

Facial Tattoo/ Makeup Designs!

1
Here I wanted to experiment with some makeup designs, drawing onto faces and bodies gathered from magazines I have. I have taken inspiration from Aboriginal drawing and painting and their linear qualities but also the work of Hundertwasser. I particularly like the above design (design 1) and designs 6 and 8 as I feel these are most successful and will have a bigger impact as a final image. I'm also drawn to designs 3 and 4 as they use the neck, an area of the body many find alluring. I thought about painting on the neck with reference to Maori tribes and other tribes using facial tattoos to make themselves alluring and appealing for future partners or otherwise.
