Peru Textiles

I wanted to look at textiles from Peru, given that the Yine tribe are based in Peru and I believed they would draw inspiration from similar places, also these textiles are very rich in patterns that could be translated to the face or body using aqua colour or pencils. I could change the colours and scale of the patterns to suit different areas of my model. I feel I could use the idea of hats and maybe customise a hat into a mix of tribal. Could be interesting/striking.

Colour! - What colours go with what?, what colours contrast each eachother?, what colours will jump out on the skin or against the skin?, which will compliment the skin? Why??

I find these textiles from Peru amazing! I could really draw inspiration from these. The above textile reminds me most of the Yine tribe, but below there are more fabulous patterns, lines and markings I could learn from or adapt.

The reminder that these textiles are handmade! Sewing - Craftsmanship! How great is this!

Layering colour - scratching into colour to expose a layer underneath - mixing colours.

Beads, beads, beads, Layers, layers, layers, Pattern, pattern, pattern, Colour, colour, colour......
